Vibrock monitor Vibration

Vibrock Limited were appointed to provide vibration and dust monitoring at the Didcot A Power Station site.

On Sunday 27th July, the three disused southern cooling towers were demolished using 180kg of explosives.  The explosion, which felled 36,000 tonnes of material, was monitored by Vibrock, utilising their state of the art BRIC seismographs.  Strategic points were monitored following a previous site visit during test blasts.   Using their expertise, Vibrock were able to predict levels of vibration prior to the demolition.  One area of monitoring was at the adjacent railway line to ensure the line remained safe for rail passengers.
