Highcourt Tower Block

Vibrock Limited undertook noise and vibration monitoring during the explosive demolition of the multistorey Highcourt Tower in Hull.  Highcourt Tower was built in 1969 and had once been the tallest building in Hull.

Vibrocks' Managing Director, David Johnson, confirmed that all noise and vibration measurements, using their state of the art V9000 seismographs, were within permissible levels. However, one thing they had not predicted for was a ginger kitten to emerge from the debris!  'Lucky' was re-homed.

The forty-six year old tower block was demolished as part of a regeneration scheme to create space for more than four hundred affordable and energy efficient homes.
